Individual and Group Supervision
Liz Brenner, LICSW offers monthly case consultation groups. Each group consists of three to five participants and meets monthly. Consultation is offered on work with couples and families as well as working individually with adolescents and adults.
Liz’s approach is heavily influenced by collaborative, solution oriented and narrative approaches. She uses lenses from a wide variety of systemic therapies, trauma theory, interpersonal neurobiology and the integration of mindfulness and yoga practices in psychotherapy. Group supervision includes case consultation, collegiality support presentation of information on special topics and clinical demonstration via role play.
The foundation of Liz’s clinical thinking was formed as a student in the Intensive Program in Family Systems Therapy that she now teaches. Her model is transtheoretical allowing integration of other theories and practice. Liz is a Certified Level 3 IFS, Level 2 EMDR and LifeForce Yoga Practitioner; she has completed IFIO training integrating IFS with couple therapy as well as AEDP for Couples.
Opportunity is created in supervision to build clinical skill, confidence, perspective as well as to receive support and learn from each other in a community of connected colleagues.
Cost: Group supervision is from $75 to $95 per session on a sliding scale. The length of the group varies between 90 minutes and 150 minutes depending on the number of participants.
If you are interested in individual supervision or a monthly supervision group or have questions, contact Liz.

Participants in supervision groups say this:
“Thank you for all of your support. I was feeling pretty discouraged by the case I spoke about and leaving the consult I felt less judgmental about my skills and less alone in the emotional upheaval I experience with clients who have some challenging behaviors. It really helped normalize it all for me.”
Molly Heverling, LICSW
“Just a quick update: I tried your soliloquy method and it worked really well. Both client and mom heard it. Also, I did the “no responding” method and just listening which both really liked. Thanks for all your help!”
Jon Scholl, LCSW
“If you ever have the opportunity to join one of Liz’s supervision groups – DO IT!! They are wonderfully supportive and I learn something new every time. She guides the group well, combining her expertise on various treatment methods with nurturance and insight.”
Lys Hunt, LICSW
“I have been in a supervision group with Liz for three years. She is not only insightful and current with various treatment modalities, but she creates a safe environment in her supervision group for me to think about my own personal impasses that obstruct my capacity to work more clearly with clients. My clients and I have benefited from her expertise immeasurably.”
Isa Mattei, LMHC
“Working in a supervision group of other clinicians, led by Liz, has created the support I needed and ended the isolation that I have felt in my work. I learn not only from discussing and sharing concerns about my own cases, but also from those of the group. Thus, the supervision has helped me to employee more effective interventions with my clients.”
Ellen Barman, LICSW
“I always look forward to supervision with Liz. Our meetings are informative and supportive, and Liz helps me to clarify the clinical dilemmas I am struggling with and figure out the next best steps to take.”
